A Menahga man died in a traffic crash Saturday night near Park Rapids.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 26-year-old Taner Berttunen of Menahga was speeding when he rear-ended an S-U-V.
Berttunen suffered fatal injuries when his truck left the road, went airborne and struck a tree. The state patrol said that Berttunen wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Both people in the SUV, 38-year-old Deylan Ingberg of Brainerd and 32-year-old Elisa Ailie of Detroit Lakes, were not injured.
According to the state patrol, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
