Staples-Motley Grad Steps Down As Coach At Concordia

Jessica Rahman has announced that she is retiring as head coach of the Concordia College (Moorhead) women’s basketball program.

Rahman, formerly Jessica Beachy, graduated from Staples-Motley in 1984.

She played for the Cobbers from 1984 – 1988, earning All-American status in each of her four years.  Rahman helped lead Concordia to win the national championship in her senior season.  She was named the NCAA Division III Player of the Year that season and also received the Honda Award as the NCAA Division III Female Athlete of the Year.

Rahman finished her playing career as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,101 points.

She has been head coach of the Cobbers for 16 seasons and retires as the winningest coach in the history of the program, with 273 victories.
