Other details…

A trailer placed on the visitor’s sideline will be utilized as the stage for the student speakers and presentation of diplomas.

The standard ceremony will be held with the exception of the band and choir performances. The program will include senior speakers, recognition of senior awards and scholarships, and the awarding of diplomas. Students will remain in their cars until they are called to receive their awards and diplomas.

A photographer will be present to take photos of each senior.

Family members will need to remain in their vehicles throughout the ceremony.

Masks will be available to the students and staff who will be out of their cars to participate in the ceremony.

The event would be livestreamed on the schools website and broadcast on KWAD.

Each student will have two reserved parking spaces looking over the football field. The first car will be near the track and the second car will be directly behind their first car.

Only essential staff will be allowed to attend the ceremony. (School board members, administration, senior class advisors, etc.)

The anticipated duration of the event is to be 45 minutes.

In the event of inclement weather, the graduation ceremony will be shortened to include the awarding of the diplomas. Speeches will be recorded and shared on the school’s website and Facebook.

A final caveat is that these plans are always fluid. If new guidance is released by MDE of public health, or COVID 19 cases increase in Wadena, plans may need to be revised or drastically changed.

Please tune in to 920am KWAD for complete commencement coverage.
