Wadena County Sheriff Investigating Horse Shooting

Authorities are investigating the shooting of a horse in Wadena County last week.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a call last Wednesday (11/13) afternoon from a property owner northwest of Nimrod, who reported that one of their horses had been shot sometime in the previous three days.

A sheriff’s deputy responded and confirmed a colt with a visible bullet wound in its abdomen.

The deputy looked for any hunters that may have been in the area and attempted to contact neighboring property owners.

There are no known suspects at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office.
