Wolverine Player Of The Week: Hunter Hawkins

This week’s Wolverine Player of the Week is junior sprinter Hunter Hawkins.

It’s been a long junior year for Hunter Hawkins, at least athletically. He tore his ACL all the way back in week 5 of the football season and has had to climb that tall mountain called “getting back out there”.

Last week, he did just that. After missing the remainder of the football season and the entire basketball season due to the injury, Hunter was able to work a 4th place finish last week in the 100 meter sprint. Head coach Marc Reynolds had this to say about Hunter’s perserverance,

Hunter is a kid whose track and field career has had its ups and downs due to injuries, but he has always found a way to get back into the lineup to help the team.  Hunter always has a positive attitude and with a push from his teachers, coaches, and especially Sarah-the trainer; Hunter has been able to work his way back onto the track this season after his ACL injury during football season.

 Congratulations, Hunter!
