Wolverine Player Of The Week: Jayson Young

This week’s Wolverine Player of the Week is senior wrestler Jayson Young.

There’s a really cool story that actually goes back a couple weeks and Head Coach Kyle Hagen tells it perfectly,

The epitome of hard work, no complaints, and grind it out mentality can be seen in Jayson Young. Sadly, he tore the meniscus in his knee during a match against a very good wrestler. Jayson not only finished the match with torn meniscus but pulled out a come from behind win in the last 10 seconds. Although his high school wrestling career will more than likely be done, his attitude and work ethic will take him to great places that extend beyond the mat.

Jayson just underwent surgery to repair that meniscus tear and is currently on the mend. I would like to apologize to Jayson for not being able to track him down in time for the interview. Thanks to Coach Hagen for lending the helping hand.
