Wolverine Player Of The Week: Madison Carsten

This week’s Wolverine Player of the Week is freshman basketball player Madison Carsten.

It was quite a spectacular season for Madison in her second year as a varsity player. Head coach Jordan Cresap says,

In her last three games (PR, Staples, Fergus) she has averaged a very efficient 17 PPG. She has been scoring in a variety of ways; inside, outside and her aggressiveness has gotten her to the FT line a good amount. If teams start keying in on her she is able to find her open teammates with ease. She does this while always taking on the challenge of guarding our opponents best offensive player. She is the ultimate competitor and is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win. It has been fun to see her improvement throughout the past year. She works hard and without a doubt her contributions have been key to our team’s success this year.

Congratulations, Madison!

Check out the interview the Madison:

One quick note: After the interview was recorded, Madison mentioned how fun it was to play with the great senior class. In particular, she mentioned her sister, Mackenzie. I never got the chance to play varsity sports with my siblings but it was obvious how special it was for Madison to play with her big sister.
